Graduated in photography from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in 1988. In her personal work, architecture is the subject of her images: tranquility and dynamics in which traces of human use evoke subtle questions. Her architectural still lifes reveal a different reality full of atmosphere and stillness. Through carefully chosen perspectives and a subtle use of light, timing, and composition, she transforms a structured environment into images with a surprising, almost abstract spatiality. Symmetry, lines, and visual balance form her starting points.
