Joan Brenda Hunt is a multidisciplinary artist who creates visual art in 2D and 3D, as well as installations. Her themes are often social in nature, but can just as easily arise from a sensitivity to beauty and what resonates within it. Her artistic signature is characterized by great diversity and a conscious detachment from style. Using an intuitive approach, an appropriate form and medium are chosen for each work, tailored to what needs to be expressed. Formal artistic rules or principles do not play a leading role. The artisanal process often plays an essential role in the execution and is accompanied by intensive learning processes, which in turn open up new possibilities within the work. Installation of five dodecahedrons, objects consisting of a regular twelve-sided solid. In antiquity, this shape was surrounded by an aura of magic. The objects represent the light, the sea, the beach, the dunes, and the mossy wooden breakwaters of Domburg, respectively. Each object features colors in multiple shades, reflecting the ever-changing effect of light that sometimes seems to possess magical powers.
