Lena Rainy
I’m a professional artist, living and working in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. My paintings were exhibited in Paris, Luxembourg and around the Netherlands.
As an artist, I take delight in the painting’s ability to capture the feeling of life and motion. To seize a fleeting moment, whether it is a sudden downpour of rain, a patch of fog caught in the wind and destined to perish within minutes, the rustle of grass, or a spiderweb briefly illuminated by the sun’s rays.
My favorite medium is oil paint. Combined with the roughish, imperfect texture of linen canvas, it is remarkably durable despite its natural origins. Oil paints are thick and feel solid and reliable as you apply them to the support. I love the way they smell as their scent seems golden and warm to me.

Titel: The Beauty of Noise | Afmeting: 50 x 40 cm | Techniek/materiaal: Olieverf op papier | Verkoopprijs: €700
This painting is about absolute freedom, movement, and the beauty of noise. Birds are circling, their hubbub is heard, and then a person feels that he or she is not alone. That the world around is full of life! The painting is executed using the technique of multi-layer painting. If you look closely, you can see the gilded middle layer. It has a warm tone and contrasts perfectly with the upper layer of cold tone. From afar, the painting seems minimalistic, but upon closer inspection, the viewer sees finely painted birds. This painting is simple and complex at the same time.

Titel: Waves | Afmeting: 40 x 30 cm | Techniek/materiaal: Olieverf op papier | Verkoopprijs: €480
The painting shows the stormy sea in all its grandeur. The water, painted in a rich palette of shades of green, from deep emerald to light olive, seems alive and breathing. The waves, rising and crashing, demonstrate the indomitable power of nature. The painting conveys a sense of power and at the same time the enchanting beauty of the sea, in which each shade of green tells its own story about the depth and energy of the water element. I wanted to convey the dynamics of water movement, because the sea is rarely calm and friendly.

Titel: Zeeland | Afmeting: 30 x 40 cm | Techniek/materiaal: Olieverf op papier | Verkoopprijs: €480
This painting is a generaliised image of the coast of Zealand. Look at this strip of light between the water and the stormy sky. It seems that the light itself does not allow the clouds to fall into the water.
The coast is green and full of life and the stormy weather only adds beauty to life in this landscape, because soon the earth will be saturated with life-giving moisture. The painting is full of dynamics. Everything is set in motion, the wind carries the clouds, changing their shape on the go, and the waves are decorated with white foam.
